TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

CPU Ring-Buffer based File Writing Pipeline

Calender January 2019 - Present

  • Collaborative project hosted on Github
  • Pipeline processes 33 Gbps data over 16 servers and write the data to a RAID disk system
  • Leverages packet sockets, shared memory and semaphores in C-language to create easy-to-access HDF5 based files with dynamically generated headers

Xilinx© Vivado based FPGA Design

Calender June 2016 - August 2018

  • Collaborative project hosted on Github
  • Designed and built the signal processing pipeline for an interferometer (operating as a receiving phased array) with 350 elements, operating over 200 MHz bandwidth
  • Created a Python interface to the FPGA that enabled observers to dynamically change the FPGA design parameters

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Calibration Techniques for Large Phased Arrays

Calender January 2018 - Present

Devised two calibration schemes for phased arrays that are agnostic to the object detected.

Data Analysis on Crab Pulsar

Calender January 2017 - August 2018

Satistically analysed 10TB of data in Python, looking for the characteristic time-domain and spectral signature of the Crab pulsar

MCMC Modelling of Non-Gaussianities in the Universe

Calender August 2017 - Aug 2018

Fit the parameters of the evolution of the universe to quasar data from an optical survey, through Multi-Chain Monte Carlo
